Team Biographies

Damon Bowers, originally from Hollywood, CA and raised in Alamo, had his early education at Monte Vista High School in Danville, graduating in 1993. He further pursued his studies at the University of the Pacific, earning a B.A. in English in 1997. Damon embarked on a 6-year professional career in the A.F.L. starting in 1998 with the New York Cityhawks, a team owned and operated by Madison Square Garden, where they played their home games. He subsequently played for the New England Seawolves in Hartford, Connecticut, the Houston Thunderbears, the Orlando Predators, and concluded his career with the Colorado Crush, which was owned by John Elway.

Since 2001, Damon has been actively involved in the Real Estate business, and since 2003, he has specialized in the private lending space. His extensive experience encompasses underwriting numerous loans in Northern California, fostering a broad network of mortgage investors to support them in achieving their financial goals. Additionally, Damon collaborates with real estate borrowers, working in partnership to facilitate financing and development projects to successful completion.

Michelle serves as Vice President at Persevere Capital, where she oversees the firm’s operational infrastructure and supports the execution of its private credit and real estate investment activities. She manages key processes across transaction administration, investor relations support, and portfolio operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency throughout the organization.

Ronnie serves as the Lead Loan Processor at Persevere Capital, supporting the firm’s investment operations by managing the end-to-end documentation, verification, and coordination required for loan execution. Her efficiency, precision, and strong analytical capabilities contribute to timely diligence, accurate transaction workflows, and reliable asset onboarding—all of which strengthen the firm’s ability to deploy capital quickly and responsibly.

Joseph McDonald is an investment management professional with extensive experience in fund structuring, capital raising, and portfolio management. In 2008, he co-founded Market Concepts, an Alexandria, VA-based alternative asset manager, where he co-managed the Sherwood Forest Alternative Fund (SFCMX), a 5-star Morningstar-rated fund later acquired by a Southern California firm. During this time, he was recognized as a 2012 Rising Star of Mutual Funds by the Mutual Fund Industry Awards and also co-managed the Dunham Alternative Strategy Fund (DNASX).Joseph has also co-founded a proprietary research and trading firm, raised seed capital for an ETF start-up, and advised financial advisory groups on fund development and capital strategies. He joined Persevere Lending in 2018, where he has closed numerous real estate private credit transactions, and co-founded Persevere Capital in 2022, where he leads its pooled product real estate credit business.

He holds a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Third Line Real Estate Income Fund.

Angela supports Persevere Capital’s investment operations through her expertise in process management, systems oversight, and organizational coordination. Her diverse skill set and efficiency mindset strengthen key operational functions, including application intake, software and data management, documentation review, compliance support, and the development of internal and external materials. Her ability to streamline workflows and ensure accuracy across multiple operational disciplines contributes to the firm’s overall execution quality and enhances the reliability of its private credit platform.

Katie oversees Persevere Capital’s valuation workflow, managing the end-to-end coordination of third-party appraisers and valuation partners to support the firm’s underwriting and asset review processes. Her organization, communication, and diligence ensure timely and accurate valuation deliverables that contribute to the firm’s investment decision-making and portfolio operations. In addition to her valuation responsibilities, Katie manages the firm’s front office and helps maintain a professional, welcoming environment for clients, partners, and stakeholders.

With more than a decade of experience in banking and financial services, Jerry Aleman brings a strong foundation in financial operations, risk review, and relationship management to his role as Intake Analyst at Persevere Capital. His background spans mortgage operations, personal banking, and client advisory roles at major institutions including Chase and Wells Fargo, where he developed deep expertise in documentation review, workflow management, and operational precision. At Persevere Capital, Jerry supports the firm’s investment operations by managing initial file intake, verifying key data inputs, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of materials that feed into underwriting and asset evaluation. His attention to detail, integrity, and disciplined approach enhance the efficiency and reliability of the firm’s private credit platform.

Jerry holds multiple industry credentials, including NMLS, California Life Insurance, Series 6 and Series 63 licenses, and is CompTIA A+ certified.
